Hi all/-new poster here.
I noticed this morning tiny little black specks all over my leaves of both my plumies. This is the first day they've been there, as I inspect the leaves pretty well on a daily basis. Could they be spider mites? There's nothing on the underside of the leaves and no webs. They're not moving and come off quite easily.
I wiped the leaves down with a damp washcloth, but whatever it is, would love advice on getting rid of them. Photos attached but they are tiny, so hope you can see them. Confused Thanks! -Shannon

Hi everyone! I've posted a couple times on here but have yet to get a reply from anyone so I'm hoping this time is the charm!

My leaves are still growing like crazy, and haven't yet figured out what the black specs are, but they don't seem to be much of an issue. Today I noticed that a leaf scar on one of my trunks has opened up to expose the green trunk underneath. Is this anything to be worried about? It's not soft or anything, just exposed. Any thoughts would be welcome!

Your plant looks healthy. If it's not soft it should be ok but keep an eye on it. In your climate you have to be vigilant; also please do not overwater.
