Char, very disappointing to hear that Mascara Snake won't get better with age. It is in a corner where it will lean against the fence, but the blooms certainly don't look nice like that.

Chew Mailpouch Tobacco is awesome looking!!

We have collected several tall daylilies including Sears Tower and Notify Ground Crew. I would like to grow Angrboda and Olaf the Conqueror.
We grow Autumn Minaret and last year I measured it at 90 inches tall. I have never seen or imagined that a daylily could grow that tall. It even held up in our windy conditions. This year we have a severe drought and it is blooming now at 80 inches tall.

Strung Out is listed at 38". Here it gets up to about 4'. It has HUGE flowers that are listed as 9", but I have had some nearly a foot across. Scapes are super strong---never had one bend---even with three of these giants on it. It is reluctant to give seed---but it is possible. This is one of Whatley's best cv.'s. He knew that the only way to have tall scapes that do not bend with the weight of Big flowers was to use tetraploids.

Big Bird's Friend is another that gets on "up there". It always gets to the 52" it is registered at---and some scapes can get to 5' in good growing years. The scapes are nice and strong---but will only be so in full sun.

I have Gossards Reach for the Heavens, 68/8.5". The scapes are very sturdy withstanding the strong winds we get here.

There is a tall one here in Britain called 'High Tor' which is 60 inches/5 foot tall. It is unregistered and gets its name from a limestone crag which towers over Matlock Bath in Derbyshire. It has yellow flowers.

No good for me as being only 5 foot tall myself the flowers would be above my eye level! Rolling on the floor laughing
