Never noticed the stick coming out buds on any of my other daylilies (6-8) thx.

That is the female part of the flower(stigma), you could pollinate that if you wanted.

Thanks Larry, always thought the stigma had a larger end on it. Figured it was one of the parts, just looked odd.
