I collected the cotton seed before I realized that it would be illegal for me to grow here in Georgia (I could endanger the entire Georgia cotton-growing industry).
Dang, if only I were a botanist, entomologist or professor I'd be able to grow the seeds "as research".

Many states don't allow people to grow cotton at home because of the boll weevil. We almost eradicated this pest in America but like bed bugs they have come back strong and because textiles are so important in the Southeast these laws where put in place. I'm not a fan of destroying the soil by intensive cotton planting anyway but at the same time I feel we shouldn't be told what we can and can't grow.

I just want to knit a sweater ;)
