Hey all, question from someone who has never had a yard before. I just moved into a home that has a small porch with space along the front for planting, but it looks like nothing's grown in forever. I'd like to put in some small bushes or grasses, but I'm not sure where to begin other than clearing out the sticks and such. How should I prep the ground for planting, and any recommendations on beginner plants to put in?

I see no weeds. Kind of makes me think that someone may of treated ground with something ???
If not, throw some manure down, then turn soil over with a shovel. level. Then top with around 3 or 4 inches of compost or mulch.
Then go to nursery, see what turns you on. Thumbs up
