My neighbor's tree is invading our yard with sucker growth. How do I kill them?

My experience with my cherry is to just keep cutting them to the ground. They eventually give up.

If you can cut the sucker where it connects to the invading root, it works better.

You cannot use an herbicide to kill suckers without risking the whole tree. Just keep cutting!
