I have an odd problem I can't seem to find an answer to. On the main stem of my basil plant I have a darkened elongated area about 12cm long and 6cm wide shaped like an oval. Coming from within that looks like what I would describe as potentially a fungus--see pic but it looks like tons of little worms coming out of it. They certainly are not worms and I don't think the plant is oozing brown sap. They aren't roots to my knowledge but I could be wrong. This is the strangest looking lesion I've ever seen and have no idea what it could be.

Never seen them in person, but that looks like Bagworm eggs.

I'm happy to say I haven't seen them before either.
