I have blooming potted sunflowers I have kept inside from seed to bloom. They recently had a white fly infestation that I managed to eliminate and now they live in a pot outside. I'm hopping to try to transplant them into the ground. Can anyone give me advice on this? I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this, so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place!

Should be a no-brainer. Just put them in a sunny spot and water well. Gene

Thanks, Gene! Do I need to put down any kind of particular soil? Most of my current outdoor open spaces are crappy, hardpacked soil devoid of nutrients and dry as a rock from the heat wave.

I'd not fuss too much. Ever been to N. Dakota? Very dry, harsh conditions but big on sunflower production. OK, maybe not this year so far.
