My tomato hasn't been doing great the past few weeks, i had to cut alot of yellow and dead foliage today. I checked the roots and there seems to be an ant nest inside of my pot... Glare does anyone have some tips to get rid of them and to get my plant better?
Its a german lunchbox tomato. I gave it miracle grow all purpose yesterday to see if it helps.

Since the tomato is in a pot, you could submerge the pot in a large container of water. The ants should leave. After they are gone, go ahead and fertilize.

Or water it with Insecticidal Soap. For ants, Insecticidal Soap is instant death. But make sure you water ALL of the soil or some will survive. Expect to see a lot of escapees carrying their little bundles of joy - be prepared with some Insecticidal Soap in a spray bottle.

I would also move the pot to a different area. I heard a person on the radio tell us how he reduces the ant population in his yard. He sets a pot of dirt over the ant holes and soon enough the ants have moved on up into the soil in the pot. They like to stay in the penthouse.

And then he moves the pot to the neighbor's yard?

There is always some part of the yard where ants will not cause a problem. I would move the newly-colonized pot to any far corner. Ants are actually good at turning the soil.
