Hi everyone,

I have a potted Pineapple plant as I have said before, and I was wondering two things, first, how do you tell when its ripe? This Pineapple is the plants first, and it is turning a different color.

Second, this plant was accidentally over watered, my sprinkler went in it without us knowing. The leaves are turning brown on the tips. Is there a fix for this?

Any help will be appreciated.

Jared, If the pineapple fruit is turning yellow, its about time to harvest. The parent plant dies after fruiting so hopefully, there are some puppies at the base of the plant.

Hi there.

Forgot to say, it was delicious. However, I did not notice any pups, so I took the top of the one I ate and am hoping it roots down.

Now that the parent plant isn't supporting the fruit anymore, it may grow pups before it dies. Don't give up on the first plant but definitely start a new one from the top of the pineapple fruit.

Good Luck! Keep us posted.
