A friendly neighbor gifted me this plant as a "welcome to the neighborhood/I have adopted too many plants and need to rehome some of them" gift but she didn't know what it was. It's just in water, which made think it could be some kind of bamboo variety? There is one stem that seems to have grown in a strange downward fashion and then back upward again. It is a little rough around the edges but I thought maybe, if possible, I could propagate it and start some new healthy (smaller) growths? I would just like to know what it is before I start chopping.
