I can't believe how many unintentional flowers are popping up in my little garden area! This one is new this season. Would love to know what it is.

Sorry I didn't get more of the leaves or stem--my "camera" refused to focus.

Thanking in advance Thumbs up

@Zencat, can you please take another look? Mine seems to have pointed petals while the Tidy Tips seems to have rounded tips. Would this make a difference?

Also, it looks like Tidy Tips is native to the west coast, and I'm in the north east (north-central MA).

Anyone else?
AKA Joey.

The database shows it can have rounded and more pointed tips. I don't know of any other flower that looks like this.

If someone else can correct me, please do! I'm very open to learning something new. Thumbs up

Tidy Tips was my first though too so I did a little research. Joanna, your plant is classic Tidy Tips with the three little points on each petal. The seed is available in wild flower mixes - even in the East, Smiling

See DaisyI's reply. It's the Tidy Tips Classic that have the pointed petals and are East Coast flowers.

Right, so I'm not seeing anything in the database or online that differentiates between the two.

You are looking at variations within the species. They are all the same plant: Layia platyglossa
