Was wondering if any of you know how to stop people from lifting your photos on Facebook. I thought my privacy settings where tight but apparently not.

Unfortunately, there is no 100% effective method for preventing photo theft from any website, short of never uploading your photos to begin with. Many sites disable the context menu (the ability to right-click) or place a transparent image over the top to make it more difficult to download photos, but anyone who knows what they are doing can bypass these.

If your Facebook page is publicly accessible, then anyone can download the images. As for the other privacy settings, unfortunately I cannot advise in detail, as I do not have a Facebook account.

There are many programs that can add a watermark - it really depends on what you are looking for. For example, the free Irfanview program can do it, although it's not necessarily the most simple way (you need to create your own watermark image first, but then you can use Irfanview's batch image processing feature to add it to lots of images at once) (as per this guide).

Thank you for this. Watermark looks like the way to go. Only my friends and family can see my photos but apparently if you thank someone after they take the photo it ok. Grumbling no asking! Going to tighten my circle on my wall.
