I grew what I think is acorn squash from seed, but the fruit that it is producing doesn't really look like acorn squash. What am I growing? And is it ready to harvest? (that squash is larger than my hand)

It looks like an acorn squash that's not ripe yet. You pick them when they turn dark and feel heavy (their tummies should be yellow to orange).
