Can you suggest a way to eradicate a growing fungus on mature Spruce trees in my garden? The trees are 35 years old, and after three years of severe drought in the area this fungal problem has become serious. The area is now receiving plenty of rainfall in the Northeast. Zone 6a in MA.

Different fungal diseases require different treatments so we would need to know what the problem is. Or is this a visible fungus growing on the tree but not a disease? Can you explain the problem, or better yet post a picture?
