Does anyone have any insight into what is happening here? The dead spot formed after regular pruning and has continued to get worse. Please help!

Can't say for sure but I had some shrubs planted along the driveway and one ended up looking just like yours. I had hired some roofers and they were urinating on the shrubs.

That looks like some type of fungal disease. I'm sure others chiming in will know more.

Welcome!

I noticed some white spots on the still green leaves, are they normal for that plant? When was it pruned?

No idea if those white spots are normal, I don't think they are, but I'm not sure whats causing them. The last pruning was approximately 2 months ago.

In appearance, I get something similar to that on my wintercreeper (Euonymus) from time to time. Rainy, humid, automated sprinkler system spray?
