I have been trying since I left Philadelphia 36 years ago to find out what this bean is. It was hardy and easy to grow, vines grow as tall as you'll let them, and the beans were long thin green pods with purple tips while growing and usually harvested before they had fully grown because of a tendency for stringiness.

Anyone know what this is? I can't find them in any seed catalogs or on the internet.
It ain't easy being me, but someone's gotta do it.

Asparagus bean is long and thin. I don't know enough about them to know if any have purple tips.

Good luck with your search!
