My super healthy indoor air plant has two runners reaching out to the air...are the runners searching for something to latch onto and do I need to provide that for them? If so what please?

Welcome!

Can you share a photo of your air plant?

When people use the common name "Air Plant" they are usually referring to a Tillandsia; is that what you have? There must be hundreds of types; I agree it would be helpful to see photos of your plant. Thumbs up

I would still like to see a photo. Air plants can put out roots, but they also can put out new little plants and they often start out looking like roots could be forming.

I've never grown them but looking up Tillandsia (air plant) on the web it looks as though some species are stoloniferous, so I'm guessing that is what is being referred to as "runners". If so, I guess it's a question of waiting for the "pups" to form on the runners, they shouldn't need to latch onto anything. Or could it be a flower stem? I guess we do need to wait for a picture or more details.
