There are a lot of unknowns in this question. I think you will have to go find an apple farmer and ask him/her. When they are ripe, when the tree bloomed, what they taste like, color of ripe apples.... What apples are normally grown in your area? ...

Also, when was it planted and what was popular at that time. As noted, there are lots of variables.
