My late wife planted a dwarf pussy willow tree about 9 years ago. I noticed that all the branches on one side have died or are dyeing. It is now early August. What should I do with it?

Brown - are you in the dry part of IL or the wet part of IL? Smiling Have you used any lawn weed killer lately?

I live in north western part of the state (Quad Cities, Davenport, Bettendorf, Ia., Moline, Rock Island, IL). Tree has been that way for two years now, but the dead area is getting bigger. Haven't used any weed killer or fertilizer.

I was reading that they can be susceptible to "a multitude of pests". Can you post a picture of your tree and a close-up of the leaves? Have you noticed any spotting or insects on the leaves?

If you're going to do that you could take some healthy twigs from the good side and root them in water, then you haven't lost the plant altogether.
