Plant ID forum: Is this a weed?

Last year I cut this plant down because I thought it was a weed, it came back in the same spot this year so I decided to let it grow and see what it did. It's about 8ft tall and it grew a small ball of little pink flowers on the very top. They weren't very attractive but they smelled really good and the bees seemed to like them. Now one of the stems has giant seed pod things maybe. I have no clue what it is. Thank you. Smiling

It's an Asclepias/Butterfly Weed of some sort.

I agree Those pods will open and you'll have tons more. It spreads by seed and underground roots.
