Hi ,
We have a very big tree in our garden , it is covered with little pears we were just wondered if it is a real pear tree or a false one as the pears are very bitter and the tree seems way to big to be a pear tree , it is the middle of august here in france any help would be appreciated, keith and Lynda. ...

Sounds like callery pear.
While those tiny pears take a while to sweeten up, they are pears, and I eat them after they finally develop some taste.

People planted those, because they weren't supposed to produce fruit....
And then more varieties were planted, and they became invasive.
