I'm new to growing raspberries and I'm confused. I pruned three years of growth heavily this spring and trellised them according to something I saw on YouTube and after reading a few articles.

I got a lot more raspberries this year but I also have a lot of new growth. Too much! It's like a jungle! And now some of my ever berries are starting to show new fruit forming but I'm thinking that they're being compromised by all the growth (without any berries) which I believe will bear no fruit next year, yes?

Should I be cutting some of those canes back now or not? And should I be cutting all the old canes that have fruited and are not going to fruit again back now, yes?

Grateful for any and all advice.

Karen
