I posted this question a few minutes ago and by mistake I clicked "finished" button before I add more pictures. So, I am posting the same question with more pictures.

Sometime March or April last year (2016), I obtained bare root bushes that I was told were beautybush. I planted them at that time and they are growing well this year. But, they do not look like beautybush (or at least they look different from existing beautybush shrubs we have). I am attaching a few pictures to this message and I was wondering whether you could tell me if these are actually beautybush or, if they are not, what they are.

Thank you for your time.

That is exactly what we have. Thank you very much! The buttonbush's flowers don't seem to be as showy as those of beautybush, which I was expecting when I planted 6 of them in our front yard. Now I have to decide what I should do with them - keep them or remove them and plant beautybushes. Anyway, thank you again.

FWIW, the blooms on Callicarpa americana are often overlooked but the berries... hence the nickname "beautyberry bush." If that is the plant you mean by beautybush.

To purpleinopp: I believe beautybush and beautyberry are different bushes. Below is a photo of beautybush (from Missouri Botanical Garden), which I was expecting. Thank you for your post.
