How long have you had it? Where did you get it? Are the leaves opposite or alternate? What color are the leaf bottoms? Have you uncurled the leaves and checked for aphids?

I wonder if its an unhealthy speciman of a very common houseplant. Like maybe a Persian Shield (Strobilanthes dyerianus).
