I was wondering if you had an api that could used from another application? Would this be something you would potentially think about offering?

At this time, there is no API and I don't think Dave has any plans to offer one.

As Australis mentioned, we don't make the database available for third party use. There are numerous other websites that do make their information available. Start with https://plants.usda.gov/java/
