Good Afternoon, I have a mango tree that has given me plenty of delicious mangoes from the middle of the tree to the lower branches. The tree is about twelve feet high. I do not get many or very few mangoes from the top of the tree. The tree is about six years old. Last year I went to Home Depot and ask the gardener? when to prune the tree. He told me to wait until January, February and prune the tree leaving plenty of space for the sun and rain to get into the branches. This I did! I use horse manor and gardening soil to to feed the true. Is this correct! The tree almost died in the March, April time frame. I had to give my blood to bring it back to life. This tree is my baby and it is the first time in my seventy-one years that something I put into the ground has grown. If I put flowers in weeds will grow. I am the world's expert in growing weeds! The leaves on the tree are very green. Can you give me any advice on how better to treat my tree. Thank you in advance. Jerry g.

Try searching the University of Florida Extension site. There is a search box on the site.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

Mango trees do not need pruning or fertilizer.
