i have a young tree, smooth bark, but don't know kind of tree.
Most of it's leaves have black splotches on them. it is not mold
as it does not rub off, and the black goes all the way through.
it looked like Dutch elm disease, but I don't think it's an elm, and
I see no bugs. The leaves are Ovate, ovular.
Can anyone steer me to help find out how to cure this?

Welcome!

Is it possible for you to post a picture of the tree and the black splotches?
