|so recently I came up with the idea for a hanging basket which feature Christmas cactus and its kin along with some bromeliads and seasonal dominant orchids such as those found within Catasetums ...any thoughts or advice on such a scheme?|

I'm no expert...so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Generally, it's not good to put plants with different needs together in one pot.
