so recently I came up with the idea for a hanging basket which feature Christmas cactus and its kin along with some bromeliads and seasonal dominant orchids such as those found within Catasetums ...any thoughts or advice on such a scheme?

Hey Josh, why don't you pose this query over on the Orchid forum. There is even a thread on Catasetums and a Catasetum expert on board too.

Hi Josh,
I'm no expert...so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Generally, it's not good to put plants with different needs together in one pot.

I agree with Lindsey. Same needs-same basket.

I agree I don't ever combine any of my orchids with other types of plants.
