The tornado swept through a subdivision about 25 miles east of us. From what I have heard there is considerable property damage but no injuries.

What it did to Rockport is heart-breaking! They are doing search-and-rescue. One fatality known so far.

We're good here. Rain has stopped - wind calmed down for now.
Had to stake my Pentapetes and cockscomb this morning.
Prayers for Rockport-

It has rained non-stop here. Plumeria pots are leaning or lying sideways. Lots of wind. We feel fortunate after seeing Rockport damage.

Rockport et al was devastated. Sad because every fall, we love going there for a few days. But I don't really feel bad for the guy who decided to ride out the storm in Corpus Christi in HIS BOAT! It now lies at the bottom of the bay. Stay safe, Everyone. Harvey won't commit to any one forecast.

That's our house on the right. Never experienced high water at our househouse this. Neighbors are all out walking and kayaking. We're safe. Just amazed at the amount of water on our street.

Cheryl, it looks like you're in pretty good shape as long as the water doesn't keep rising. Yay! It doesn't look like the wind got too bad there either.
Now if we could just hear from others..... Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers!

We actually did get some rain this afternoon. Don't know how much. Can't see the rain gauge from any of my windows. Not going into skeeter territory to check.

Love the kayak pictures!

In the early 70s when I was living on an island, it literally rained for 40 days and 40 nights. I kid you not! Started as a heavy downpour but sometimes it would be more of a drizzle. Nevertheless, it definitely was 40 days and 40 nights.

Early on, since I'd never been in that kind of rain and didn't realize how much rain had fallen, I decided to go into town to do something — I think to go to the bank, maybe. Anyway, it was a downhill drive and as I was getting closer to town I saw where the water was already starting to be higher than the doors of most of the buildings. Figured it would be prudent to turn around and go back home.
