We have grey but dry skies now and have only had 5-6" of rain. A good friend of mine got out of Houston before the worst and her car is now sitting under water at the airport. Some of my trees I have been shaping got torn to shreds from the wind but we have been incredibly lucky considering what is happening in the south. The images and rain totals are just horrific. Stay safe everyone. Group hug

Everything is perfect where I am because I'm way north of all of the devastation. Plus I'm getting cooler August weather as a side effect. Just saying.

Listening to the radio now I hear that people are already filling up shelters here. So that means it's time to get my lazy self up and out and do some volunteer work!

I'm in Fort Bend county and under the wet side of the "stuck" storm. Our property, although right next to the Brazos River, is high and will not flood. We will be fine. We even have some nice new lakes in our pastures! Unfortunately many areas of the county have had to evacuate with few open roads and scarce shelters.

I saw on TV that some volunteers who were using a boat to help rescue people, had been shot at! What in the world is the matter with someone that would do that? Blinking

@Porkpal,
Gosh, how are your farm animals doing? Doesn't look like they'll be in those pastures any time soon. Sighing! Glad you're on higher ground. Did you all get any tornado warnings? I thought I heard Richmond mentioned on the weather channel for that. Stay safe!

They have asked if you have a boat to come help. First Responders have been going non-stop without sleep. They need help now. So many people need rescuing. The Convention Center is getting close to 5000 capacity. Rescue boats are looking at tree tops as they float by, boating over tops of street signs. Big giant rescue trucks are underwater. So many baaaaad areas. We are lucky so far. To top it off, they are releasing the dam now. That means MORE water in the already full and swollen rivers and forcing neighborhoods to be evacuated..

Had light rain all day but it's a break and the bayou across the street has dropped. We'll know in 20 mins which direction Harvey will go. We could have clear skies as early as tomorrow night. Crossing Fingers!

@ILoveJesus lives in a Mont Belvieu that was hit hard. I helped her with the Atlas Glove Co-Op ATP had. She hasn't posted in a long while. I hope she and David are ok.

Sorry, but I just don't understand the mentality of someone that takes advantage of these disasters and either steals, vandalizes, or gouges for high prices. I agree Cheryl - seriously?!
I've been watching via the internet and my heart just breaks when I see the pictures. Hoping you stay lucky Cheryl Group hug Group hug Group hug Group hug Angel Angel

Hope you guys all stay safe. My heart goes out to you all...being in South Louisiana I do understand what y'all are going through. Last night the "Cajun Navy" was headed toward Houston. They were life savers during the flood here last August.

Keeping y'all in thoughts and prayers...stay safe.

In spite of our new lakes, none of our pastures is completely under water. There are high points in all. The animals are fine.

We have a flat bottom boat I would be happy to donate to the rescue cause, but it leaks: bullet holes in the hull.

(Sorry about the shrinking photo.)

We had a relatively dry afternoon so it gave things a chance to drain. Getting to work this morning was no problem. One leak at work, so set a trash can in place for the next few days. It isn't a crisis and I heard there were other more pressing leaks in the building.got to leave early since no mail, FedEx or UPS deliveries of samples.

@moonhowl the Cajun Navy is in Kingwood right now. Most likely they are on the river helping residents there. Glad to have them! In fact the news featured a couple more guys who came from LA specifically to help us. I love it! Lovey dubby Thank You! I tip my hat to you.

Watching the news on CBS right now -- and the Cajun Navy. Huge props to everyone that steps up to help out in disasters!

The only upside that I see to this thing is that maybe it will eclipse the hurricane they named after me Rolling my eyes.
