Just brought this gal home today. The tag says it's a dracaena, but not which kind and so I'm therefore not sure how to best take care of it other than what the tag says, which is that it likes low light.

Drooling

@plantladylin could it be Janet Craig? I'm not good with Dracaena IDs, but it reminds me of my Janet Craig compacta, just longer.

I looked on google and Janet Craig looks right! What's the best way to care for her?

Sadly, I'm not sure myself. I just bought my compacta the other day. *Blush* I've also read about low light, but I'd imagine bright light (no direct sun, but near a bright window) would be better. I'm not entirely sure about watering though. Shrug!

Yes, it could very well be the cultivar 'Janet Craig': Dracaena (Dracaena fragrans 'Janet Craig')

The care should be the same as for all Dracaena fragrans; they like bright light and will do well in a broad range of conditions from full sun to full shade. In my opinion, they look best in bright, partially shady locations. They are drought tolerant and enjoy high humidity.

Janet Craigs are very good low light plants and hold up better than their Corn Plant relatives. Keep it away from direct sunlight. They also do well in low humidity as long as the soil is watered when the top inch or so feels dry.
