Hi,

Newby question, I have a seed pod which has gone from dark green to pale green and gaunt looking. but looking at it today it is going a very pale whitish colour at the base and quite 'wrinkly'.

I have tried to take a pic but can't without risking damaging the pod.

It is about 5 weeks old.

Is this normal, i.e do they go white before brown?

Thanks, guys! Thank You!

Yes, some do. Once they get to the stage you are describing, they are close to being ripe. Give them a slight squeeze when you check them. If they start to crack open, they are ready to be picked.

@touchofsky

Thanks Valerie,

I'm almost as nervous about these pods as when I used to breed cats (although obviously losing a seed pod is nowhere near as devastating as losing a kitten, which is absolutely soul destroying)

I can imagine Crying I would have a hard time coping with losing a kitten, as well.

It sounds like your pod is well on its way to maturity, though. Let us know when you pick it!
