Since I have a couple hundred seeds, in the frig now, I was wonder if using peat moss pellets would be okay to use, once I take them out. That way I can put one seed in each pellet, and them put then in a tote with a lid, while I wait on the to sprout. Have yall used then before? Good or bad?

There are many products like this. If they're the ones I'm thinking of, they seem to be more geared toward very small seeds, like tomatoes, or seed that is very susceptible to disease. I don't see any advantage to using them with daylily seed, and it just introduces complication and more expense to the process.

Once you take your seeds out of the fridge, just plant them a quarter of an inch deep in the containers where you want them to grow until they're ready to line out in the garden. If you have separate crosses you need to keep apart, a 4-inch container for each cross might be good. If you have some crosses with only 2 or 3 seed each, you can put them in 4-inch pots, two crosses to a pot. If you have a group of random daylily seed, you could plant them directly in those blue trays. For seed sprouting, most potting soils benefit from being amended with about 25% perlite, or you could use a seed-starting mix, which is generally peat and perlite.

A small cold frame should easily get them through winter in Georgia. If you grow them indoors, you'll need some strong lights such as T5 High Output for the best results.

Thanks for your reply, I was not sure how big the seed hole was, as to why I asked the question. I will just keep doing what I am doing now with my seeds, I was just thinking that would reduce root damage when planting them into the ground.
