I spotted this today at botanical gardens near me. Unfortunately, there was no sign to indicate what the plants were, and I'm curious! There were both blooms and the globular things I assume are seed pods on each plant.

Oh my, what a name! Thanks for the ID!
I see other names are Goose plant, Giant swan milkweed, Family jewels, Oscar, Cotton-bush, Pufferfish milkweed, Balloon Cottonbush and Balloon plant.
I also see that it was formerly Asclepias physocarpa and is a host plant for Monarch caterpillars, which explains why it was planted alongside Asclepias syriaca.

I haven't seen many Monarch butterflies around here this year; I hope they find it!
