|Hi!! I'm new to gardening, and my first ever plant is... strawberries!! I've done a bunch of research but I haven't seen any good soil for said plant when I put it in the ground!! I got it at my local plant shop that already had it in a pot, and it already had a flower with a small strawberry (I removed it because it was black and yellow... not good) So.. I'll provide images. Thanks!! (Sorry for the long post)

|Strawberries prefer a slightly acidic and sandy soil.
IF you think your natural soil is not good enough, dig a hole-- two by two by two-- and amend it with top quality garden soil and potting soil.
As it will sink, have it a couple of inches above normal level and cover ground with straw.
Depending on your winters, not a bad idea to cover it in winter for the first few years with straw.
