So maybe you will enjoy talking about the weather. It has been on the cold side during rhe nights and I have resisted building a fire in the furnace, yes a wood burning furnace. It is a England 28 3500 I installed in 2015 after 30 years of our burning in the Southern Aire furnace that was in the house when we bought it so have no idea when it was installed but was cracking so out it went.

Friday was supposed to be a nice day but it rained for a while in the afternoon so I broke down and built a fire and heaped the furnace full and let it rip for about a half hour then choked it down for the night.
Got up early Saturday morning to a nice warm not hot house, got ready for the drive to Sandusky Mi car show.
Was cloudy and cold most of the day at the car show and some of the older ladies who lived close called and had quilts dropped off for them to wrap up in. Sun did come out a bit after noon so it did warm up for a bit.
Back at hone the house had cooled down so another fire was built, woke Sunday morning to a nice warm house to get ready to drive to Lapeer Mi. cider mill car show. Sun came out early in the morning and slowly warmed it up but still wore a jacket till about 2:00 PM the wind was chilly.

I had been burning what I call junk wood, Left over popple I had cleaned up from friends yard, and chunks of short twisted up stuff and the kindlin was now all gone.

Monday I started the tractor went back to the woods and hooked on a big log. It had blowen down in a wind storm about May and was blocking the trail to my cut up wood. I just skided it right to the house, hooked up to the trailer drove back and filled it with a a couple weeks worth of wood during a cold spell in the winter.

So now I am set uo for several weeks and can spend some extra time working on the Buick.

Don't even want to talk about the weather either I see.

How many of you make jam with Autum Olive berries? Do you make wine with them?
I don't use to many of the berries for my needs but the blue birds will be at them all winter long.

Hi Al, @trailtwister
Have a look at some of the existing threads in the Sandbox forum. You could post on the weather thread 'How's your WEATHER' - no invitation is required. There's also a recipes thread where you could post about making Autumn Olive jam. Or alternatively, try creating a Blog, where you can cover lots of topics. Also, If you don't get responses right away, it doesn't mean that nobody is reading or will ever read what you've written.

I keep a weather journal of sorts, Nothing special just the temp, humidity and wind direction and speed at the time of the post. I had it on a dash board blog but when my old HP lap top puked and I got the new Mac book I am not able to get on there any more so I keep it on the mac in a page like a word program uses on a windows computer.

Ya I see how it is I can post on others threads but they don't need to mine.

Hi Al! I'm just pointing out that some people who enjoy reading and posting about the weather are using the How's Your Weather thread. They would be interested in your daily weather reports, but I suspect they don't know about them because this thread's title doesn't mention weather. If you post weather reports on the weather thread, you would be sure to get an interested audience. But am I right in thinking you want a separate thread to post on multiple topics and find out if someone else is interested in the same things as you? Oh, I just noticed that you have not entered your location in your profile, so at the moment nobody knows where you are. Geographical location is kind of important when it comes to weather reports!

By the way, I do keep a daily record of the temperature at dawn and in the early afternoon, and what the sky is doing, and I also record first and last frost, and the date and depth of snowfalls, but it's not scientific. I used to record it in a garden diary, but now I use an Excel spreadsheet on a laptop.

Really upsets me, I guess and should expect it people just can't read any longer. No wonder the recent news was about children readding at such a low level these days because their parents can't read so can not teach the child.

Opening line here mentions the weather in line one, Rolling on the floor laughing word number 9.

Al, Al, you missed my point. The THREAD doesn't have weather in the title. You can't see the text in the first line unless you open the thread, and the thread title just says, "So ya'll don't care for old car pictures?" and sounds as if you are annoyed at people who aren't. Personally, I don't care for old car pictures unless they are of my own favorite car in its youth. I'm not sure why I opened your thread. Now I'm starting to regret it Rolling on the floor laughing

I think texting and videos are killing reading, writing, and spelling. I also suspect that in days of yore a large number of people always had difficulty reading and writing, but we never noticed back then because before the Internet they could only post letters to the editor.
