In trying to revitalize a patchy bermuda lawn, I have realized that I have a one foot swath of another kind of warm season grass along one edge. It has stayed extremely short, almost ground hugging. If my whole lawn consisted of this grass, I would never need to mow. Does anybody have any ideas?

The grass in question never seems to get any taller than this. The blades always lay flat on the ground. It is very drought tolerant, but I only have a few patches of it. The grass behind it grows taller, and has very long, obvious runners. It is invasive in the flower beds. It is much less heat tolerant.
The bare patches were caused when my husband hired Trugreen. Clover had shaded out much of the grass. I've managed to reseed some, but the current temperatures are hard on the lawn. I never realized I had two varieties of grass till the clover was gone.
