I was double-checking to make sure that I had added a particular event as well as that I hadn't added it twice. The event is 'Storing Your Harvest' at Redenta's Garden Center on September 30th.

If I just scroll through the events, it's there. But if I do a search using either my zip code or my city/state, it's nowhere to be found.

Did I make a mistake when I added it? I'm also seeing that it doesn't include a map. So then I saw that in the address I didn't put 'Street'. So when I tried to update it I got an error: 342. The only other thing that occurs to me is that in the text I noted that the class would also be held at the Arlington location. (Didn't put the address with the comment.)

Did I do something wrong? Or is there a problem with the calendar?

I found why it was giving a error 342 and I fixed that. Please try editing it again.

Your fix worked. Got rid of the 342 error and also added the map to the event. Thanks.

Question: I know how to clone an event if I'm entering 2 events in a row that will occur at the same place. But can I take an older event and clone it? (Did that make sense?)

If you can access the event, you can clone it.

Thanks, says Ms. Hunt and Peck Typist.

I have encountered something else a little odd in the events calendar. If I do a search for events that are near me, I realize that they are sorted by distance. But it differs a little depending on whether I use my zip code or my city/state. I have screen prints but I'd rather send them privately as I'm shy (really) and don't want everyone to see my zip code. So I'll send you a tree mail @dave and no hurry for you to check it out.

I got the tree mail, thanks.

I'll be looking into the sorting issue soon. It always sorts by distance but there is certainly a better way to display these event results.

I've made some improvements to the search. I think it's a bit better now. Smiling

It's perfect for me. But I noticed that as the search goes further out it no longer sorts by date. Or I don't think it did unless I'm overlooking something.

I used 'Dallas, TX', which I think is 75201, and a search for 50 miles. As I said, it's perfect.
Then there's the category 'Farther away'.
The first 3 events listed are all in Tyler at 107 miles away. But those 3 aren't in date order. Since I don't plan to go to Tyler, it makes me no never mind. (Sorry. I've learned to love to talk Texan.)

One especially nice thing is that I saw that there's an Exhibition of Chihuly glass sculptures at the New York Botanical Garden thru the end of October. I'm hoping to visit one of my nieces & family in Brooklyn in October. If y'all aren't familiar with Dale Chihuly, might be worth a google.

Anyway, thanks for the fix!

As a native Pacific NWer, I had the pleasure of visiting the Pilchuck Glass Studio in the 1970s when Chihuly was kind of an up-and-coming artist. We had friends who were caretakers and the main lodge and student housing is in a gorgeous setting up in the woods outside a tree farm. At that time there were all sorts of funky lodging for the students - converted greenhouses, sheds, yurts, very rustic and basic (very little indoor plumbing). Not sure what it's like today, I believe the campus is now only open for demonstrations and special events.

Here's an interesting article on Chuhuly himself, who rarely creates any glass art himself anymore.

Yes, I read that article about Chihuly. Whatever he's like as a person or supervisor or dictator, the work itself is stellar in my opinion. One of the cancer clinics at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center has an almost 2 story tall, bright, mostly orange, blown glass sculpture in the foyer. It's 'by' Chihuly or maybe just designed by him. Nevertheless, it is absolutely breathtaking. Puts a smile or just a look of awe on most of the patients who are in the cancer clinic.
