I know that I've seen this before but can't find out what it is again!
It grows from a broad-leaved rosette, zone 4, I think that it's a perennial...

Thanks for any information!!

Can you add a photo of the rest of the plant?

Hi kdawne, Welcome!

If you are certain of the identity, your lovely photos would make a great addition to our database because we currently have no photos of Salvia (Salvia broussonetii)

well now I'm not certain that it could be this species...I live in zone 4b at 7,000' and it says that it is not hardy below 9b...i'll keep trying to specifically track it down unless anyone else has any suggestions...thanks!

Investigating the species that are hardy & documented in your location with white blooms should take you where you need to go:

I googled and found sites that say is zone 4 and higher. Our database shows zone 5 but I found a few sites that list it as zone 4. Not sure if it's a match though as my eyesight is not the greatest for comparison:
http://www.sunnyborder.com/pla...
https://www.bluestoneperennial...

This site has a listing for S. verticillata 'Alba' synonym White Rain and lists zone 3-9: http://www.perennials.com/plan...

Here's a photo of S. verticillata 'Alba' from our database:

We have a database listing for one named Meadow Sage (Salvia pratensis Balletโ„ข Swan Lake) I wonder if it's the same plant? No pictures of the leaves, only blooms and seeds.

I think it is the "swan lake" species but am happy enough with the fact that it is a salvia, I know better how to treat it...thank you everyone for your knowledge, effort and assistance, I feel that I can put this question to rest!

Hurray! Thank You!
