Great looking roots, Frank! We are going to have fun with photos next year!

I have a Rosy Prospects from another peony Nursery and it has never bloomed. This coming Spring will be year 3, so I am hopeful.

I read on Facebook that Hidden Springs will be shipping out all next week!!

Now we will all be busy planting! ( which to me is exciting!)
LG -I have a little garden in which to walk and immensity in which to dream.

@peonyplan

Yes, Peony 'Chinese Dragon' is a tree peony. It's the 1st photo in the original post.

It seems to be about the same size as the rest of the roots.

The tree peony seems only have 1-2 buds, can it survive?

I just planted it, so I rinsed it off again to determine how I would plant it. It did have 4 or 5 buds, they were kind of spread out and hiding...

I love roots from Adelman's! Large with well developed eyes. Got 6 roots this year again. Buckeye Belle from them was planted last fall and bloomed in the spring.

I got several tree peonies from Adelmans last year, 2 bloomed this spring. All we're growing on their own roots, hopefully this year's will be the same.

@frankrichards16 Thank you Frank. The tree peony root looks good sized and divided from an older plant. I suppose it is better if they divide it with two longer branches and more buds.

Here are pics of my two roots from Adelman Peonies that came yesterday. I am really happy with the roots. Pluto is huge and on its own root!

What are those small green strips on the root? Planting depth marks?

Yes, they are planting depth markers. Very helpful to have. Seems like they want me to bury the whole root except for that tiny stem.

Brooks and Solaris had the planting depth markers On them this year as well. Brooks also recommended putting compost and Milorganite in the planting hole several inches below the root, first time I've seen them recommend a specific fertilizer not targeted at peonies. Didn't have any on hand so did a mix of Azomite and BulbTone instead with compost.
