Anyone know of an online Tulip registry or Tulip Society which has the tulips online? (I am thinking, somewhat like what the Amer. Daffodil Society provides)

I had meant to see if I could find such a society last night, so far I had only come across a society here which doesn't give much info. Usually a search for (name).org brings something up, so tulips.org brought up a site with a long list of old tulip names and gooness know what else!

At present, this website lists more than 1300 old tulips dating from about 1585 to 1960, along with their date of origin and classification. As other old tulips are identified, they will be added to the appropriate lists. With time, we hope to provide Cultivar Datasheets – including photographs, descriptions, and growth characteristics –

Janet,
Isn't it strange how there aren't many?
I was a bit surprised. Maybe because now the cultivars are so transient with all the hybridizing and such.
Plus they are not as long-lived as Daffodils.

Thanks for the info you found!

You will get all the information including colour by clicking on 'Tulip' next to each name, who's going to be busy now? Rolling on the floor laughing

It's a good job I found that cultivar link, I can't find it now! Hilarious!

I found another link which has photos of more recent cultivars..

http://www.kavb.nl/gwo/index.h...

I found how to get it, just in case it disappears!

Click "Databases" link at the left, click on link which says "Geregistreerde cultivars" then there's a link in the first line of the text which comes up. When you get the page you have to click on the arrow next to the 'T' which only brings up Tecophilaea, another click on the arrow next to that brings up more! A miracle I found it! Hilarious!

Some of the colour descriptions are in Dutch but they can be translated by highlighting the text, and using right click I can use 'translate with Bing' so anyone should be able to do that.

I searched for one of the registrants in the list, one with a more recent cultivar, Tomorrow's Tulips B.V. and came up with the same site I linked to with the groups, The Tulip Gallery! I don't know if you have noticed Janice, I didn't take a lot of notice but have seen the site before. For each group there's several pages of photos! Could be useful! Clicking on each photo gives more info, year of registration, colour etc.!

I also found on the register list you can search for a named variety by using the magnifying glass on the top right.

Someone created an account this morning and posted GPT spam to three threads and this was one of those threads. The reply updated the timestamp for the thread making it appear new. Deleting the spam does not reset the timestamp.
