Hello everyone,

This bush/tree shot out of the ground in my front yard maybe a year ago. Since then it has grown to 12-15 feet and is taking over! The leaves are pretty characteristic with their reddish tips but I still couldn't figure out what it is.

I'm worried how big the trunk will get and if I'll have to cut it off :(

Its an Acacia tree. You probably don't want it where its growing.

Blackwood acacia. Acacia melanoxylon. They are weed trees. Fast-growing, short-lived, with brittle limbs. Get rid of it now before you have to call in a tree service. If you can't get all the roots, you may need to brush on some herbicide on the freshly cut trunk to prevent it from re-sprouting.
When counting, try not to mix chickens with blessings.

If you can't get all the roots, invest in some brush killer (its pricey) and paint the stump with full strength. Don't get the brush killer on the soil - it will kill any root it comes in contact with.
