Thank you all for the kind words and acorns. This species is native to the California coast near Los Angeles and offshore islands. The plant in the picture is about a year-old propagation. It's in a 3 gallon pot and will soon go in the ground. Once established, these plants require no water in our climate, and they bring on the hummingbirds like few others.
