My giant saguaro cactus seedlings have germinated (about 4 weeks since they germinated). I took them out of the ziplock bag they were in and gave them some water and put them under a grow light. How much sun and water do the seedlings need?

Lots of light. Low humidity. Not much water. The soil should be gritty and quick-draining. Think "desert"!

Give your baby seedlings hours of daily sun if they are going to be indoor plants. They will like more water as youngsters than they would like as adults. Saturate the soil when you do water, and then wait a few days to a week to water again, given fast draining soil and strong light. When the plants are very small you will probably want to bottom water so as not to disturb them (park the container in a tray full of water and allow the water to be absorbed for 20-30 minutes, before taking it out and allowing it to drain).
