Well, brought in lots of plants due to the cold, sure takes up some room, good thing it is a spare bedroom with no bed in it! And notice the gnome garden on the floor, has a four o clock growing in it that a seed fell in, I brought the gnome garden in to see if the Eucalyptus plant will stay alive since it is a annual.

No, my mom made it. My mom and sister are talented quilters....not my thing to do, but lucky they do. She also made me a cute Christmas quilt and a every month calendar quilt and a green bird quilt.

LOVE that bird quilt, Linda! I've dabbled in quilting a bit -- maybe someday I'll be good enough to make one like that Smiling

Great collection of plants, too!

Eucalyptus is a perennial so if you keep it happy this winter, it will be around next spring. Smiling If it were an annual, it would not be possible to keep it alive.

Beautiful quilts!

Hope all the plants survive. I'm sure they will be fine with you watching over them. Funny that the Four O'Clock grew itself. Thumbs up Thumbs up

I am very vigilante I have my spray bottle of warm water and mist the ones that like humidity several times a day. So, I am trying my best to keep them happy.

I do that every year but I keep all mine in the laundry room under fluorescent lights. Do no get discourage if they look bad. Some will lose a lot of their leaves but as long as you keep them alive they will be bigger and better next summer.

I usually do not bring my plants in until they threaten 35 or lower. Then I have to do a mad dash. Rolling on the floor laughing Nobody will come in until November. If it looks like it is going to be a few cool nights I throw a sheet over them for the night. I found I have less problem with bugs if I let them get cold. In 40 yrs I have never had a bug problem indoors.

I just got my cool air humidifier from Amazon today and it is now in my plant room, that should be a great help for them, especially this winter.

You will enjoy your "plant zone" on those dreary winter days. It looks so inviting.
But tell me, I suspect from the toys you have a kitty (or two). They won't bother your plants?

@pod I know your question was for Freedombelle but I had to laugh because everyone ask me that question about my cat. My cat seems to know "mess with her plants and I will be a homeless cat". Rolling on the floor laughing

I did not train him or every have to speak to him to stay away from the plants he just does. I have had him 15 yrs and hundreds of plants through the winter and he never touches them. He is a indoor cat only goes outside on a leash with me and seems to know plants are a no, no.

You're lucky, Cinta. I've had cats that loved to dig in pots, and to even eat plants.

Glad all of your kitties are plant friendly ~ Linda & Cinta!

Five cats here and the only plant they bother is the catnip. I allow that.

Two of them spend most of their days in the greenhouse and have their water, litter and beds in there.

BUT... they are vintage ~ 9 and 16 years old. I don't think I'd trust a kitten like that. I do enjoy my cats company, both in and out of the greenhouse.

Keeping the kitties in the GH would make sure you don't have any rodent problems, Kristi. Maybe I should have a GH kitty! We keep finding mice and chipmunks in there eating the plants.

I see there are cats that respect plant people. I should do a video of him navigating a spot to sit in the window.

He examines the spot carefully. Put his front paws up then looks over his shoulder to see where he is going to put his back paws. Continue look where he puts his front paws then back paws until he gets to a spot big enough to sit down.

He has knocked down a plant once when I first got him and he would not go to that window for a year. I have 25 windows in this house I think he felt 24 was enough.

Sept 24th, a tiny black kitten peered around the corner of the house as if to ask 'can I come in your garden?' He never left. My husband built him a cat house, with an enclosed straw bed, in the garage, and so we've got ourselves a barn cat. He is my constant companion outside. I've seen him in my barn, the garden shed, wandering out by the perimeter of the pond, in every tree I pass by (yikes - bombs away). We have never had a cat, this is all a new mystery to us. One thing is for sure, he'll never be in the house AND he'll be getting fixed, wormed, vaccinated, etc.

Kathy, please consider joining us on the "pets" thread in the Sandbox forum. You need to read through the saga of Tarev and her cats Tikoy and Smokey.... It's almost as funny as the story of how NewYorkRita got hooked on starting tomato plants from seed and now grows 100+ tomato plants every year. (and, I suppose it's possible that someone could point out something or other that I've done that was equally as funny... but Tarev and the cats is totally applicable to your present situation) nodding
