I was directed to this site to find out what number our gardening zone is. But, I cannot seem to find my way to this answer. Where/how do I ascertain my zone.

Go to this government of Canada site and find your location on the maps on the lower half of the page (extreme minimum temperature zones) which are the equivalent of the USDA system that most people use on this site:

Canada has its own system but it differs from the USDA's so will only be relevant to those of us in Canada (and then only if you indicate it is a Canadian zone). Occasionally the zone numbers coincide on both systems but not necessarily.

If you're looking just for the Canadian zones, that would be the maps at the top of the page linked to above.
