Very pretty, but it would have to be replanted frequently because most of those things grow much too fast. I'd use some sempervivums. They come in many sizes, colors and textures.

Some of the people on the Sempervivum threads make them. @valleylynn, or @webesemps? I know they have posted info on how to make them. Maybe they can link to that.
