Today's plant of the day for Sempervivum is Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Generaal').

A newer introduction from Europe. Rosettes are large, robust and productive.

Let me see now, how many 4' x 8' cinderblock beds will fit in 6.24 acres?

Be sure to factor in that about half of it is kind of vertical, if you know what I mean. I suppose I could terrace it............................................ Rolling on the floor laughing

I have sad news about that last photo of 'Generaal'. Last Monday I tried to dismantle the offsets at the top of the rosette. Non of them have stolons, all are attached to a main core, and are starting to look like they want to bloom. I pried one loose and stuck it in the ground to see if the core will root. I do have the normal offsets around the underside of the rosette. Detached them and planted them. All had roots started.

So deconstruction at the bottom gave way to new foundations but the penthouse is giving you trouble? Shrug!
