Just found this growing on a rotten piece of wood in the dark under a larger log. Looks like an underwater coral. Strange to find something white growing in the dark. Its about the size of a baseball.

Can anyone identify it?

how about Sparassis sp, as in Sparassis crispa?

Thank you Tofi, yes that looks about right. Never seen it in my garden before and we have been here over 20 years. I will check with some other folks here in Hawaii and see if it has occurred elsewhere on the islands. Probably not invasive.
